PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston Esquire Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation bearing date the twenty-eighth day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two I Isaac Earl Featherston Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in virtue of the powers vested in me in that behalf did proclaim and declare that the block of land known as the Masterton Block in the Wairarapa Valley in the said Province of Wellington the boundaries of which were set forth in the said Proclamation should form and constitute a District for the purposes of the District Highways Act and should be called the Masterton District And whereas certain boundaries of the said District were in the said Proclamation wrongly defined and certain other boundaries were omitted And whereas it is expedient to remove doubts which have arisen or may arise respecting the boundaries of the said District Now therefore I the said Isaac Earl Featherston Superintendent of the said Province of Wellington do hereby proclaim and declare that the following are the boundaries of the Masterton Highways District namely—

North.—A line commencing at the North-east corner of Section No. 71 and running to a point sixty chains North from the “Trig” pole at the Pa Kaiko Kiri Kiri on the Waipoua River and thence in a straight line across the Waipoua River and continued to the summit of the first or lower range of the Tararua Mountains or to the Waingawa River should it intervene—East by the Ruamahanga River—South the Waingawa River—and West a line from the Western point of the North boundary running South till it meets the Waingawa River.

Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the P.s. Province of Wellington at Wellington this Eighteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
