The Northern boundary commences at the North-west corner of Section No. 51 and runs thence Easterly by the Northern boundary of Sections No. 51 and 52 to the North-east corner of the latter thence Northerly to the South-west corner of Section No. 74 thence Easterly by the dividing line of sections to the Eastern line of road thence Northerly by the said Eastern line to the North-west corner of Section No. 113 thence Easterly to the North-east corner of the said Section No. 113 thence to the North-west corner of Section No. 270 thence Easterly by the boundary of the said Section to the Waikupa Native Reserve thence Southerly by the boundary of the said reserve to the Matarawa stream thence Easterly by the said stream to the South-east corner of the said reserve thence Northerly by the boundary of the said reserve to the North-west corner of Section No. 256 thence by the dividing line of sections to the North-east corner of Section No. 259 thence by a North-east line to the North-west corner of Section No. 246 and by the boundary of the said section to its North-east corner thence Southerly by the Eastern boundary of the said section by the high banks of the river Wangaehu and by the said high banks to the dividing line of Sections No. 249 and 250 thence Westerly by the said dividing line to Section No. 186 thence Southerly to the South-east corner of the said section thence Westerly to the North-east corner of Section No. 149 thence Southerly by the line of sections to the South-east corner of Section No. 148 thence Westerly by the Southern boundary of the said section to the union line of road thence Southerly by the said road to the South-east corner of Section No. 146 thence Westerly by the Southern boundary of the said section to the South-west corner thence by the division line of sections to the North-east corner of Section No. 107 thence Westerly by the division line of sections to the South-west corner of Section No. 36 thence Northerly by the Western boundary of said section to the No. 2 line of road thence Westerly by the said line of road to the South-west corner of Section No. 51 and thence Northerly by the Western boundary of the said section to the starting point.
And also that the said Act shall come into operation within such district on the day of the date hereof.
Defining the Upper Hutt School District.
PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston Esquire Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Second Session of the Provincial Council of Wellington No. 6 intituled “An Act to promote the Establishment of Common Schools in the Province of Wellington” it is enacted that for the purposes of the said Act it should be lawful for the Superintendent by Proclamation to divide the Province into districts and from time to time to subdivide such districts and to reunite any subdivisions and also by Proclamation to declare that the said Act should come into operation within such district or subdivision at such time as he might appoint. And whereas it is deemed expedient to proclaim that portion of the Province within the boundaries hereinafter set forth to be a district for the purposes of the said Act. Now therefore I Isaac Earl Featherston Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in virtue of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf do hereby proclaim and declare that such portion of the said Province as is comprised within the following boundaries shall form and constitute a district for the purposes of the said Act to be called “The Upper Hutt School District” which said district shall be bounded as follows namely:
Commences at the North-west corner of Section No. 191 thence along the Northern boundary of said section and the Northern boundary of J. Waterson’s application continued to a point eighty (80) chains from the North-east corner of the last application thence a straight line to the South-east corner of Section No. 157 thence along the Eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 157, 155, 153, 151, 149, and 147 to the North-east corner of Section No. 147 thence a line to the South-east corner of Section No. 146 thence along the Eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 146, 145, 144, 143, 140, 135, 134, 133, 132, 131, and 130 to the North-east corner of Section No. 130 thence a line to the North-west corner of said section thence a public road to the North-east corner of Section No. 141 thence a straight line to the North-west corner of said section thence a line to the North-east corner of Section No. 171 thence along the Northern boundary of said section and part of No. 173 to the Hutt River thence by the River Hutt to the South-west corner of Section No. 173 thence a straight line to the North-west corner of Section No. 117 and thence by the Eastern bank of the River Hutt to the commencing point.
