In the matter of the Petition of

WILLIAM HENRY NEWTON, now of Wanganui, in the Province of Wellington,
Comedian, lately carrying on business in Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, in co-partnership with one Charles Henry Smith, as licensed Victuallers, under the style or firm of "Smith and Newton"

and in the matter of the "Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862," and the "Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act, 1865."

NOTICE is hereby given that the said William Henry Newton, has this day filed his Petition for the Sequestration of his estate for the benefit of all his Creditors, and for the relief according to the provisions of the said Acts, and that the said Petition has been accepted by His Honor Mr. Justice Johnston, who has appointed the fifteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, at ten o’clock, in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court house, Wellington, for the hearing thereof, at which time and place all parties concerned are to attend.

SITTINGS OF THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.

MIDDLE DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Sitting of the Circuit Court of the Supreme Court for the Middle District of New Zealand for the despatch of Criminal and Civil business, will be holden at the Court House, in the Supreme Court Buildings, Lambton Quay, Wellington, on FRIDAY, the 1st day of DECEMBER next, at TEN o’clock in the forenoon, pursuant to proclamation, at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances as Prosecutors, Witnesses, or Defendants are required to give their attendance.

NOTICE is hereby further given, that the Court will be adjourned on the said 1st day of December, to TUESDAY the FIFTH day of DECEMBER. All persons bound by recognizances as Prosecutors, Witnesses or Defendants, need not appear on the said 1st day of December, but all such persons are required to give their attendance at 10 o’clock, on Tuesday, the 5th day of December.

The Civil Common Jury cases will be taken on MONDAY, the ELEVENTH day of DECEMBER, at TEN o’clock in the forenoon.

The Supreme Court will sit in Banco on FRIDAY, the FIFTEENTH day of DECEMBER, at ELEVEN o’clock in the forenoon.
