Lower Rangitiki Highways District.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act passed by the Provincial Council of Wellington, Session IX, No. 10, intituled "An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to District Highways," it was enacted among other things that the Superintendent might for the purposes of the said Act, from time to time by Proclamation divide the Province or any part thereof into Districts, and might in like manner sub-divide, alter or re-unite the same: AND WHEREAS it is expedient to proclaim the portion of the Province hereinafter mentioned to be comprised within a district for the purposes of the said Act: Now, therefore, I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power and authority in me vested in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that all that piece of land comprised within the following limits, that is to say, bounded on the North West and West by the boundary of the Rangitiki and Turakina districts as far as the Southern boundary of the Kahuraponga road district; North by the Kahuraponga road district; East and North East by the Upper Rangitiki road district; South East by the Rangitiki river; South West and West by the Sea Coast, and delineated on the plan hereunto annexed, shall form and constitute a district for the purposes of the said recited Act, and shall be called "the Lower Rangitiki Highways District."

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington at Rangitiki this twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

THE Superintendent directs the following Rules and Regulations, respecting the firing for the Prizes given by the Provincial Government, in the Districts of Wanganui and Rangitikei, to be published for general information.
