Tenders for Printing.

Provincial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 6th December, 1864.

SEALED TENDERS will be received at this office, until Thursday, 22nd December instant, at noon, from persons desirous of executing by contract either of the undermentioned services for the Provincial Government for the six months, ending 30th June, 1865 :-

Printing.

  1. Printing the Provincial Government Gazette, at per sheet, and inserting the same in one of the local newspapers; subject to certain conditions of even date herewith, to be seen at this office.

Printing Official Forms.

  1. Further particulars may be obtained at this office.

Firewood.

  1. Rata or manuka, in two feet lengths delivered and stacked at the office, or building requiring the supply. Separate tenders will be required for supplying the Wellington gaol.

The Government or the contractors will be at liberty to terminate any of the above contracts, by giving three months’ notice of their desire to do so.

In the event of the contractors failing in the terms of their contract, the Government to be at liberty to procure the articles elsewhere, charging the increased price, if any, to said contractors.

Each tender for printing the Gazettes, &c., is expressly to state that it is subject to the conditions alluded to in section 1 above.

Diseased Cattle Act—Otago.

From the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, November 9, 1864.

PROCLAMATION

Admitting Importation of Cattle into the Province of Otago by the Port of Dunedin, from the Province of Southland; and permitting the Driving of Cattle from Southland into such portions of Otago as are at present, or may hereafter be, declared to be Infected Districts.

By the Honorable JOHN HYDE HARRIS, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the twenty-sixth day of February last, I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue of the powers delegated to me under the “Diseased Cattle Act, 1861,” did proclaim and declare that from and after the date of the said Proclamation, and until further notice, the Province of Southland in the Colony of New Zealand, should be deemed to be and should be an Infected District, within the meaning, and for the purposes of the said Act; and I did thereby order that no Cattle should be imported either by land or by sea into the said Province of Otago from the Province of Southland, or should be driven or brought for any
