Proclamation.
By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session IX, No. 10, intituled “An Act to consolidate the law relating to District Highways,” it was enacted among other things that the Superintendent might for the purposes of the said Act, from time to time by Proclamation divide the Province or any part thereof into districts, and might in like manner alter or re-unite the same
AND WHEREAS it is expedient to proclaim the portion of the Province hereinafter mentioned to be a district for the purpose of the said Act, now, therefore, I, ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in virtue of the powers and authority in me vested in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare all that Block of land contained within the following boundaries, namely, on the North and North East by the public road leading from Wellington to Wairarapa, and by and including land belonging to C. Clifford, J. Hartley, J. Bryant, C. Mabey, and others; on the East by and including land belonging to H. Collet, J. Blatchford, W. Blatchford (late Bircham), C. C. Retter, J. F. Hooper, and by and including Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, Whiteman’s Valley, belonging to F. Whiteman, W. Whiteman, W. B. Rhodes, and others; on the South East by a line running from Section 14, Whiteman’s Valley, to Section 167 in the Upper Hutt the property of W. H. Rawson; on the South by Section 167 and 168 in the Upper Hutt; on the West by and including Sections 168, 166, and Section 164 in the said last-mentioned district as far as number 2 line; on the South West by number 2 line as far as the said Public Road; on the West by said Public Road to the before mentioned northern boundary; shall form and constitute a district for the purpose of the said District Highways Act, 1862, and an Act of Session X, No. 4, intituled “An Act to amend the District Highways Act, 1862,” and shall be called Mungaroa District.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty four.
