Zealand, delegated to Thomas Carter, Esq., so long as he shall hold the office of Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, the several powers vested in the said Governor by the second, fourth, fifth, seventh, ninth, and tenth sections of the said act, subject to being rescinded in the said act provided, and subject to the Regulations issued by the Governor in Council, on the fifteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty three, and to any other Regulations to be from time to time duly made. And whereas it has been made to appear to me as such Superintendent as aforesaid that the disease called "Pleuro-pneumonia," being an infectious or contagious disease, has broken out amongst cattle within the several districts hereinafter described.

Now, therefore, I, Thomas Carter, by virtue of such powers in me vested, do hereby proclaim and declare that the districts comprising the several Provinces of Otago and Southland, in the Middle Island, and the districts comprising the several Provinces of Auckland, Wellington, Hawke's Bay, and Taranaki, in the North Island, are infected within the meaning of the said act, and that from and after Monday, the 18th day of April, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four no cattle shall be imported from the said districts into the Province of Marlborough.

Proclamation.

By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.

I, ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do HEREBY in pursuance of the Regulations in this behalf, PROCLAIM and NOTIFY, that the several allotments of land situate in the Rangitiki District, in the Province of Wellington, and specified in the Schedule hereto, except such as may be reserved under the provision hereafter mentioned, will be put up for sale by Public Auction, at the Crown Lands Office, in the Town of Wellington, on Monday, the 12th day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, at one o'clock, in the afternoon.

If at any time during the sale it may appear to the Commissioner of Crown Lands beneficial or expedient for the public service to reserve from sale either of the Sections specified in the said Schedule, or to vary the order in which they are to be put up, he is hereby authorized to do so.
