General Government Notices.

THE following Notifications from the New Zealand Gazette are published for general information.

A PROCLAMATION
For the Naturalization of certain Persons.

By His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral of the same, &c., &c.

WHEREAS by “The Naturalization Act 1862,” it is enacted that every person who shall be declared to come within the operation of that Act by any Proclamation to be issued in that behalf by His Excellency the Governor, shall, as from the time in such Proclamation specified, be deemed and taken until the termination of the next Session of the General Assembly, to be and to have been from such specified time, a natural-born subject of Her Majesty, within the Colony of New Zealand, as fully to all intents and purposes as if his name had been inserted in the Schedule to that Act annexed. Provided always that every such Proclamation shall contain the description, occupation or calling of every person therein named, and his place of residence at the date of such Proclamation:

Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the persons hereinafter mentioned shall come within the operation of the said Act from the dates hereinafter specified, viz.:

JOHANN GOTTLIEB KALMS,
From the First day of January, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three,
Native of Prussia, Settler, residence Rangitiki, in the Province of Wellington.

JOHANNE AUGUSTE KALMS,
From the First day of January, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three,
Native of Prussia, Settler, residence Rangitiki, in the Province of Wellington.

JULIANNA AUGUSTE WILHELMINE KALMS,
From the First day of January, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three,
Native of Prussia, Settler, residence Rangitiki, in the Province of Wellington.

Given under my hand, at the Government House, at Auckland, and issued under the seal of the Colony of New Zealand, this twenty-third day of February, in the year of Our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three,

Notice to Justices of the Peace of “Jervis’ Acts” by Glen, being procurable at the Colonial Secretary’s Office, Judicial Department.

NOTICE is hereby given to gentlemen on the Commission of the Peace that the Imperial Statutes regulating the duties of Justices of the Peace (Jervis’ Acts published with Notes by Glen, 2nd Edition) may now be procured at cost price (8s.) on application at this office.

ORDER IN COUNCIL,
Bringing the “Crown Lands Act, 1862,” into operation.

At the Government House, at Auckland, the 28th day of February, 1863.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Crown Lands Act, 1862,” it is enacted that the said Act shall come into operation in each Province of New Zealand on and from a day to be fixed by the Governor in Council, to be notified in the Government Gazette of the Colony, and also of the Province to which such notification shall apply:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, doth hereby order that the “Crown Lands Act 1862,” shall come into operation within each of the aftermentioned Provinces of New Zealand, namely, the Provinces of Auckland, Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, on and from the sixth day of April next.
