THE HUTT DISTRICT COURT.
NOTICE is hereby given, that a Sitting of the District Court of the Hutt for the despatch of business, will be holden at the Mechanic’s Institute, at the Lower Hutt, on Tuesday the 19th day of November next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, when all parties concerned are required to give their attendance.
Notice is hereby also given, that a Sitting of the District Court of the Hutt for the despatch of business, will be held on Friday, the 23rd day of November next, at the School House, at Greytown, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, when all parties concerned are required to give their attendance.
Application for summons and other proceedings of the District Court are to be made to the Acting Clerk, at the Supreme Court House at Wellington, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, between the hours of ten and four.

SUPREME COURT.
MIDDLE DISTRICT.
NOTICE is hereby given, that a Sitting of the Circuit Court of the Supreme Court for the Middle District of New Zealand, for the despatch of Civil and Criminal business, will be holden at the Court House in the Provincial Government Buildings, at Wellington, on Monday the second day of December next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, pursuant to Proclamation; at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances, prosecutors, witnesses or defendants are required to give their attendance.
Notice is hereby further given that the Civil Causes will not be called on for trial until Monday, the 9th day of December next, at ten o’clock, a.m.; to which time the Sittings of the said Circuit Court will be adjourned after the conclusion of the Criminal business.
The Supreme Court will sit in Banco on Monday the 16th day of December, at half-past 10 o’clock, a.m.

THE FOLLOWING “Rules for the Recovery of Persons Apparently Drowned” are printed for general information.
They have also been printed as a placard, copies of which can be obtained on application by persons living on the Sea Coast, or in the neighbourhood of Rivers.

Rules for the Recovery of Persons Apparently Drowned.
Upon the first alarm send for Medical Aid, Blankets, and Warm Clothing.
1st. Immediately upon recovering the body from the water, place it on its side in the boat with one arm supporting the head, so as not to raise it too much, that fluid may escape from the mouth, which cleanse and wipe, as also the nostrils.
If the weather be not severe, expose the face, neck, and chest to the breeze, at the same time rubbing, until dry and warm, any part of the body it may be possible to get at.
2nd. Upon landing the body immediately strip it of its wet clothes and quickly rub it dry, covering it with the spare clothes of the bystanders till a warm bed or blankets can be procured.
Place it gently on the face, with one arm supporting the forehead and a folded coat under the chest. Turn the body, gently but completely, on to the side, and then briskly back on the face, repeating this process...
