NOTICE

Pursuant to "Wellington Savings’ Bank Act, Session III. No. 7."

RUIHANA TE MARE, an Aboriginal Native of New Zealand, living at Te Aro Pa, Wellington, Widow of Wiremu Epiha, late of Wellington, deceased:

Whereas the said Wiremu Epiha departed this life on or about the 19th day of July, 1861, leaving in the Savings’ Bank, at Wellington, certain sums of money being upwards of Twenty (£20) pounds standing in the name of the said Wiremu Epiha; and whereas the said Ruihana Te Mare claims the balance now in the said Bank as the late wife and legal representative of the said Wiremu Epiha:

Now, these Presents witness that the said Ruihana Te Mare prays that the Trustees of the said Bank will duly transfer the said balance with the interest thereon into the name of the said Ruihana Te Mare, as such legal representative of the said Wiremu Epiha, in pursuance of the Act in such case made and provided. Dated this fifth day of September, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one.

Wellington, 21st August, 1861.

DAVID LEWIS, a Commissioner duly appointed, by virtue of the Ordinance No. 15, Session II, of the Legislative Council of the Islands of New Zealand, to hear and decide Claims to Land by persons claiming Title thereto from, through, or under the New Zealand Company, report that the claims of the under-mentioned persons having been duly referred to me for investigation, do hereby decide that the said persons are respectively entitled to Crown Grants of the land set against their names in the annexed Schedule.
