PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of Wellington, Session III., No. 8, intituled An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to cattle trespass and impounding, it was among other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent by Proclamation, to declare certain districts to be Pastoral Districts, and at any time to declare that such districts should cease to be Pastoral and come within the full operation of this Act: And whereas by Proclamation by the Superintendent, issued under the Public Seal of the Province on the third day of April, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-six, the Superintendent proclaimed and declared that the portion of the Province of Wellington lying between the Ruahine and Tararua Mountains, and the Coast Eastward (except the places hereinafter mentioned) should be a Pastoral District for the purposes of the said Act: And whereas it is expedient that the portion of the Province so proclaimed to be a pastoral district should now cease to be such:—Now therefore I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, aforesaid, in virtue of the power in that behalf vested in me, Do hereby Proclaim and declare that the portion of the said Province situated between the Ruahine and Tararua Mountains, and the Coast Eastward shall from the first day of July next, cease to be a pastoral district, and shall therefore come within the full operation of the said Act.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of May, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-one.
