NOTICE

Mr. Francis Robert Arthur of Wellington, purchaser of Thirteen Thousand Six Hundred and Twenty-Five acres of Land on the Taratahi plains, Wairarapa, across which a certain main road is reserved and laid off on the plans of the said district, as colored red on the annexed plan, is hereby authorised (by virtue of the power vested in me by a certain Act of the Provincial Council, entitled “An Act to extend the provisions of the Highways Act, 1856.”) to erect fences and gates across the said road, wherever the same shall cross the land of the said Francis Robert Arthur; provided that such gates can be conveniently opened and shut by any traveller on horseback without dismounting, and are of sufficient width to admit of all usual traffic on the said road by drays, carts, horses, or otherwise however.
