PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session X., No. 4, intituled "An Act to consolidate the law relating to District Highways," It was enacted, among other things, that the Superintendent might, for the purposes of the said Act, from time to time, by Proclamation, divide the Province, or any part thereof, into districts, and might in like manner sub-divide, alter, or re-unite the same. And whereas it is expedient to proclaim the portion of the Province hereinafter mentioned to be a District for the purposes of the said Act—
Now, therefore, I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby Proclaim and declare that the following block of land comprised within the said boundaries, namely— North:—The northern boundary line of a piece of land in the Ohariu District, belonging to Caleb Cull, and being Lot x. of the block of land formerly a native garden; thence along the
northern boundary of Section No. 73, Ohariu, in a straight line until it meets the coast South:—The southern boundary lines of Sections Nos. 22 & 23, Makara District, and a straight line westward, in continuation of the said southern boundary of Section No. 22 to the coast. East:—The eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 23, 25, 27, and so much of 29, Makara District, as is formed by the stream, then to the top of the Otari range, thence to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 78, Ohariu, along the eastern and northern boundaries thereof, and thence along the eastern side of the public road to the north-east corner of Caleb Cull’s land before referred to. West:—The coast—shall form and constitute a district for the purposes of the "District Highways Act," and shall be called "The North Makara Road District."
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty.
