PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by the “District Highways Act,” passed by the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session 3, No. 4, it was enacted that the Superintendent might for the purposes of the said Act, from time to time by Proclamation divide the Province, or any part thereof into Districts, and might in like manner subdivide, alter, or re-unite the same. And WHEREAS it is expedient to proclaim the portion of the Province hereinafter mentioned, to be a district for the purposes of the said Act. Now therefore, I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power and authority in me vested in this behalf, Do HEREBY Proclaim and Declare, that the land within the limits hereinafter specified, being the Southern portion of the Makara District and comprising sections, numbers One to Twenty-one inclusive, and number Twenty-three in the Makara District, shall form and constitute a District for the purposes of the “District Highways Act,” before mentioned, and shall be called the “Southern Makara District;” the limits to be as follows—namely:

North, the Northern boundary line of section number Twenty-three in the Makara District—thence along the Western side of the Public Road there to section number Twenty-one, and along the northern boundary line of section number Twenty-one.

East—The eastern boundary lines of sections number one, two, three, four, six, eight, ten, twelve, fourteen, sixteen, eighteen, twenty, and twenty-three, in the Makara District.

South. The Southern boundary line of Section number One, in the same district.

West—the Western boundary lines of sections numbers one, two, three, four, five, seven, nine, eleven, thirteen, fifteen, seventeen, nineteen, and twenty-one, in the same district.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, this Third day of February, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.

SUPREME COURT.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Sitting of the Supreme Court, for the despatch of Criminal Business, will be holden at the Court House, in the buildings of the Provincial Government, Wellington, on Tuesday the First day of March next, at Ten o’clock in the forenoon; and that a Sitting for the despatch of Civil Business, will be holden at the said Court House, on Monday the Seventh day of March next, at the hour of Ten o’clock in the forenoon; at which times and place all persons under recognizance either as Prosecutors, Defendants, or Witnesses are required to give their attendance.
