HIS HONOR the Superintendent directs it to be notified for general information, that a Writ for the election of one Member to serve in the Provincial Council for the Hutt District, having been issued in accordance with clause 12 of “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer has returned the said Writ, with a certificate that the undermentioned gentleman has been duly elected to serve as a Member of the said Provincial Council for the said Hutt District,

NOTICE.
WHEREAS, THOMAS ROBERTS, of Pigeon Bay, in the Wairarapa District; has consented to allow of a diversion of the road which was laid off in front of his land; so that the same will hereafter pass at the head of a certain lagoon defined on the plan of the said lands, across sections Nos. 187, 190, 192 and 195, the said Thomas Roberts is hereby authorised (in virtue of the power in me vested by a certain Act of the Provincial Council entitled “An Act to extend the Provisions of the Highways Act, 1856,”) to erect gates across the said road; wherever it may be crossed by any person provided that such gates can be conveniently opened and shut by any traveller on horseback without dismounting.
