TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon of Friday, the 8th day of October, for the repair of the Bridge on the Hutt River.

Plans and Specifications may be inspected at either of the three following places:—

  1. The Office of the Provincial Secretary, Wellington.
  2. Mr. Whitewood’s Hotel, Hutt.
  3. Mr. Buck’s Inn, Taita.

HIS HONOR the Superintendent has been pleased to appoint

Mr. Thomas Braggins,
of the Hutt Road, to be Poundkeeper at the Hutt, vice Mr. Charles Payton, resigned. The appointment to date from this day.

THE DEPUTY Superintendent directs it to be notified for general information, that a Writ for the election of One Member to serve in the Provincial Council for the Wairarapa District having been issued in accordance with clause 12 of “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer has returned the said Writ with a Certificate that the undermentioned Gentleman has been duly elected to serve as a Member of the said Provincial Council for the said Wairarapa District:—

William Mein Smith, of the Wairarapa.

NOTICE TO INTENDING CONTRACTORS FOR REPAIRING THE HUTT BRIDGE.

Attention in the Specification.

SIX of the Piles are to be of Black Birch (squared) instead of Totara; for particulars see amended specification.

In consequence of the above alteration, the time for receiving Tenders will be extended until noon of Monday, the 11th instant.
