✨ Partnership Formation Notice
CERTIFICATE of the formation of a Partnership or Company for the promotion of Steam Navigation, in the Province of Wellington, under the Mixed Partnerships Act, Province of Wellington.
First.—The style of the Partnership under which the Firm is to be conducted is William Hickson, William Barnard Rhodes, George Hunter, William Bowler, William Waring Taylor, and Others, Wellington Steam Navigation Company.
Second.—The general nature of the business to be transacted by the partnership is the purchase of the steam vessel Wonga Wonga, and the conveyance of Passengers and Goods in Steam Vessels between such places as the Partnership or Company may, from time to time determine, within the Colony of New Zealand; and the doing all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.
Third.—That the principal place at which the business of the said Partnership or Company is to be transacted is Wellington aforesaid.
Fourth.—That the said Partnership is to commence on the Twenty-sixth day of June, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven, and is to terminate on the Twenty-sixth day of June One thousand eight hundred and sixty-two, unless sooner determined by the said Partnership or Company obtaining an Act of Incorporation.
Fifth.—That the nominal capital of the said Partnership is Five thousand pounds, divided into Five Hundred shares of Ten pounds each.
Sixth.—We the several persons whose names and addresses are subscribed hereto, have agreed to enter into partnership under the Mixed Partnerships Act, for the Province of Wellington, for the purpose of promoting Steam Navigation in the Province of Wellington. And we respectively agree to take the number of Shares in the Capital of the Partnership, and to contribute the amount, and to be bound as Special or General Partners, as set opposite our respective names and with the word "paid" where the shares have been paid.
