NOTICE.

PROVINCE OF WELLINGTON.

ELECTION OF SUPERINTENDENT.

WHEREAS a Writ under the hand of His Excellency Thomas Gore Browne, Commander of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Colony of New Zealand, &c., &c., bearing date the twenty-eighth day of April, One thousand eight hundred and fifty eight, and under the public seal of the said Colony, hath been directed to me, John Elisha Smith, Esq., Principal Returning Officer for the Province of Wellington, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, a legally qualified person to serve as Superintendent for the Province of Wellington.

Now therefore I, the said John Elisha Smith, Principal Returning Officer for the Province of Wellington, do hereby in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give Notice, that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the Province of Wellington, will be held at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, situate on Lambton Quay, in the City of Wellington, on Monday, the fourteenth day of June next, at noon, for the purpose of nominating a Person to serve as Superintendent for the said Province; and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such Polling shall take place on Monday, the twenty-eighth day of June next, at the said Resident Magistrate’s Court, in Wellington aforesaid, and at the several Polling Places throughout the Province, the voting to commence at any time after nine o’clock in the forenoon of the said day, and to close at four o’clock in the afternoon of the said day.

NOTICE TO IMMIGRANTS.

THE balances of passage money from Immigrants by the undermentioned vessels being overdue, it is requested that payment of the same be forthwith made to the undersigned.

THE first moiety of passage money from Immigrants by the undermentioned vessels being overdue, it is requested that the same be forthwith paid to the undersigned.
