✨ Licensing Meeting, Lighthouse Notice
Resident Magistrate’s Court,
Wellington, 7th March, 1857:
NOTICE is hereby given that the General Annual Licensing Meeting of the Justices for the District of Wellington will be holden at this Court on Tuesday, the 21st day of April next, at 12 o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of considering applications for Licenses for the Sale of Fermented and Spirituous Liquors, in compliance with the provisions of the Licensing Ordinance, 5 Victoria, Session II. No. 12.
All applications must be lodged with the Clerk to the Bench on or before Tuesday the seventh day of April next.

I transmit herewith, with the view of its being published in the Colony under your Government, copies of a Notice which has been issued by the Board of Trade, notifying that the Lighthouse on Cape Race, Newfoundland, will be ready for exhibition on the 15th of December next.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.
CAPE RACE LIGHT, NEWFOUNDLAND.
The Lords of the Committee of the Privy Council for Trade give Notice—
That the Lighthouse recently erected upon Cape Race (Newfoundland) will be lighted, and will continue to exhibit
A FIXED WHITE LIGHT,
from sunset to sunrise, on and after the 15th of December, 1856.
The light will be visible to seaward from N. E. by E. round by the S. E. and South to West.
The light is elevated 180 feet above mean water level of the sea, and may be seen in clear weather 17 miles from a ship’s deck. The tower is striped red and white vertically. It stands close to the old beacon, which has been cut down.
The lighthouse is in
Latitude ... 46° 39' 12" N.
Longitude ... 53° 2' 38" W.
[All bearings are Magnetic. Var. 24° W.]
