Wellington, 26th August, 1856.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified for general information, that a Writ for the Election of one additional Member to serve in the Provincial Council for the Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay Districts having been issued in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Provincial Council, Sess. III, No. 1, entitled, "An Act to enlarge the Provincial Council," the Returning Officer has returned the said Writ, with a Certificate that the undermentioned Gentleman has been duly elected to serve as a Member for the said Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay Districts.
