PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS, by a Proclamation issued under the Public Seal of the Province, on the thirteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four, such part of the District of Wanganui situate on the eastern side of the River Wanganui, as was comprised within the limits known as the boundaries of the purchased Block and the River, was declared a District for the purposes of the Act of the Provincial Council, Session I, Number 21, intituled, "An Act for the making, maintaining, and management of Country Roads within the Province of Wellington : And whereas, by the District Highways Act, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six, it was enacted, that all Districts proclaimed under the before-mentioned Act should continue such for the purposes of the said Highways Act of one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six, until altered under the provisions thereof: And
whereas it is deemed expedient to alter the boundaries of the District so proclaimed as aforesaid :
Now therefore I, Isaac Earl Featherston, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province, in virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby PROCLAIM and DECLARE that the District on the Eastern side of the Wanganui River, proclaimed as hereinbefore mentioned, shall be divided into four Districts, for the purposes of the District Highways Act, 1856, to be called respectively the Kaitoki District, the Mataraua District, the Matongo-nga District, and the Makirikiri District :βThat the boundaries of such Districts shall be as follows, viz :β
The Kaitoki District.
North, the back of the Sections laid off from and fronting No. 1, on the northern side to the original boundary of the Wanganui Block (except at Section number (136), one hundred and thirty-six; the southern boundary of which section is to be the boundary thence from the original boundary of the Wanganui Block by a straight line running parallel to Line No. 1, until it strikes the river,
