PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington,
in the Islands of New Zealand.
I, ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON,
Superintendent of the Province of
Wellington, DO HEREBY, (in accordance
with Clause 2, of the Additional Land
Regulations, for the amendment and
extension of the Regulations of the
fourth of March, One thousand eight
hundred and fifty-three, recommended
by the Superintendent and the Council for the Province of Wellington,
Session II, to the Governor,) Proclaim
and Notify, that the Block of land
comprising about One thousand acres,
situate on the Harbour of Port Napier,
in the Ahuriri District, the boundaries of
which block are particularly described in
the Official Survey and Plan thereof,
and copies of which are deposited at the
Office of the Land Commissioner at Wellington, and at the Office of the Land
Commissioner at Port Napier, is reserved
for the purpose of a Township.
And I do also proclaim that the said
Township shall be styled "Napier." And
I do further proclaim and notify, that the
several pieces of land in the Survey or
Plan of the said Block of Land or Township, before mentioned, marked, or described therein, as "Battery Reserve,"
"Barrack Reserve," "Reserve Botanical
Garden," "Town Hall and Assembly
Room Reserve," "Crown Land and Survey Office Reserve," "Gaol Reserve,"
"Hospital Reserve," "Slaughter-house
Reserve," "Reserve for Lighthouse and
Signal Station, Ferry House and Public
Landing Place," "Survey Reserve,"
"Burial Reserve," are reserved for the
several public purposes thereon indicated respectively.
That the section No. 66, (Sixty-six)
is reserved for a Police Station; sections
Numbers 106, (one hundred and six)
and 107, (one hundred and seven) for
public offices; and Numbers 111, (one
hundred and eleven) and 112, (one hundred and twelve) for a Court-House;
that the several sections in the Township
on the same survey and plan marked 37,
(thirty-seven) 51, (fifty-one) 59, (fifty-nine) 70, (seventy) 116, (one hundred
and sixteen) 142 (one hundred and forty-two) 190, (one hundred and ninety) 191,
(one hundred and ninety-one), 196 (one
hundred and ninety-six) 201, (two hundred and one) 246, (two hundred and
forty-six) 247, (two hundred and forty-seven) 289, (two hundred and eighty-nine) 335, (three hundred and thirty-five) 336, (three hundred and thirty-six)
349, (three hundred and forty-nine) 392,
(three hundred and ninety-two) 407,
(four hundred and seven) 421, (four
hundred and twenty-one) 469, (four
hundred and sixty-nine) 513, (five hundred and thirteen) and 523, (five hundred and twenty-three). The suburban
sections Numbers 2, (two) and 34,
(thirty-four) and the several pieces of
land thereon marked "Education Reserves" are reserved for the purposes of
Education in compliance with the clause
VII. of the Additional Land Regulations
before referred to.

November, one thousand eight
hundred and fifty-five.
