NOTICE.

Election of Members of the House of Representatives

CITY OF WELLINGTON.
Province of Wellington,

To Wit.

WHEREAS a Writ under the hand of His Excellency THOMAS GORE BROWNE, Companion of the most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, &c. &c., bearing date the Fifteenth day of September, in the Year of our Lord, One thousand, Eight hundred and Fifty-five, and under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid, hath been directed to me, Henry St. Hill, Esquire, Returning Officer for the “City of Wellington,” reciting that the General Assembly of New Zealand has been dissolved, and that it is necessary that an Election of Members of the House of Representatives should now take place; and requiring

and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, Three Persons to serve as Members for the “City of Wellington,” in the House of Representatives of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid.

Now, THEREFORE, I, the said HENRY ST. HILL, Esquire, Returning Officer for the City of Wellington, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give Notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the City of Wellington will be holden at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, situate on Lambton Quay, in the City of Wellington aforesaid, on Monday, the Twelfth (12th) day of November next at noon, for the purpose of nominating Three Persons to serve as Members for the City of Wellington in the House of Representatives of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid: and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such
