NOTICE.
REPRESENTATIONS having been made to His Honor the Superintendent, that but few persons in this Province, are aware of the Penal consequences to any person who shall import into the Colony any Arms, Gunpowder, or other warlike stores, or who shall dispose of the same, or any part thereof; the Public is hereby cautioned that every person who shall import, or bring into the Colony, or shall land, or dispose of, or cause, or permit to be landed, or otherwise disposed of, any Arms, gunpowder, or other warlike stores, without a License first obtained for that purpose under the hand of His Excellency The Officer Administering the Government—or of such other Person as may be duly authorised for that purpose—shall for every such offence forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding £500, to be recovered in a summary way.

PUBLIC NOTICE.
A STORE situated on Lambton Quay opposite Plimmer’s Wharf, in the occupation of Mr. J. T. Peacock, has been approved of temporarily and provisionally for the free Warehousing of Goods, in terms of the Ordinance of the Governor and Council of New Zealand, 4th Victoria, No. 3 of 1841.

COLONIAL HOSPITAL, WELLINGTON;
RULES respecting the Attendance of Ministers of Religion upon Patients in the Hospital.

The name of each patient, and that of the Church or Sect to which he belongs shall, on his arrival, be entered in the Register Book.

A Book shall be kept in which every Minister of Religion shall enter his name every time he visits the Hospital.

Any patient of one religious denomination who may be desirous of being visited by a Minister of another denomination, must make application to that effect, through the Hospital Attendants to the Provincial Surgeon—unless in cases of emergency, when, if the Surgeon be absent, and cannot be found, notice from the patient to one of the Attendants shall be deemed sufficient.

No Minister shall exhort, instruct, or converse on religious subjects with any patient not of his own denomination, unless the provisions of the third regulation have been previously complied with.

No books shall be admitted into the Hospital Library, unless they shall have been previously submitted to the inspection and approval of the Board of Visitors.

The patients shall be allowed to receive visits from the Ministers of Religion only between the hours of 2 P.M., and 7 P.M.—unless in cases of emergency when such visits may be allowed on permission of the Provincial Surgeon, or in his absence, of the principal attendant.

The visits of Ministers of religion may be prohibited to any patient whose state of health, in the opinion of the Provincial Surgeon, may be seriously compromised by such visit. A Minute of such prohibition to be entered by the Provincial Surgeon in the Minute Book, with instructions to the Attendant to direct the attention of Ministers desiring to see such patient to the said Minute.

The foregoing Regulations shall be inserted in the Book, which the Ministers are required to sign—with a request that they may be strictly observed.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.
North Unst Shetland,—Temporary Lighthouse.
THE COMMISSIONERS OF NORTHERN LIGHTHOUSES hereby give Notice, that, with the view to a permanent light being ultimately established in the same locality, a temporary Lighthouse tower has been erected off the North end of the Island of Unst, in Shetland, and that the Light will be exhibited therefrom for the first time on the night of Wednesday, 11th October, 1854, and every night
