PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington.

WHEREAS by an Act passed in the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session I, Number 21, entitled "An Act for the making, maintaining, repairing, and management of Country Roads within the Province of Wellington," It is among other things enacted that the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington shall from time to time as he shall deem fit, by Proclamation, declare the Districts within which Rates upon Land shall be levied for the making, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Highways then and thereafter to be made and the Boundaries of such Districts. Now therefore I, Isaac Earl Featherston, the Superintendent of the said Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power and authority in me vested in this behalf Do hereby Proclaim and declare that such part of the District of

WANGANUI,

situate on the Western side of the River Wanganui, as is comprised within the limits known as the boundaries of the purchased Block and the River, shall be a District within which Rates upon Land shall be levied for the making, repair, maintenance, and improvement of the Highways now and hereafter to be made therein, and for other the purposes of the Act hereinbefore referred to.

And that the land within such district belonging to aboriginal inhabitants shall be excepted from the Rate.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, the Thirteenth day of November, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-four.

And that the land within such district belonging to aboriginal inhabitants shall be excepted from the Rate.
