make all the arrangements necessary to facilitate embarkation. A depot, or other provision for temporary board and lodging, will be provided at the ports of embarkation at the expense of the Agent, in case of the ship not sailing to the day.

Emigrants, and their personal baggage, will be landed free of expense.

All ships under this arrangement will make Wellington their first port.

Rate of Passage Money:
Adults................................ £20 per head.
Between 7 and 14................... £10
Between 1 and 7..................... £6 13s 4d
Under one year...................... no charge.
- Personal baggage in the following proportions:
Adults................................ ¼ ton.
Not adults, but above one year old... ⅛ ton.

All ships employed in this service will be under the provisions of the Passenger Act, and every means be used to secure the comfort and welfare of the Passengers.

To secure attention and good conduct on the part of the Captains and Medical Officers, a gratuity, at the rate of £50 for every 100 passengers, will be paid to each by the Provincial Government, on the satisfactory completion of the voyage, but withheld on well established grounds of complaint.
Further, in order to promote the instruction as well as comfort of the Passengers, arrangements will be made for the establishment of a Library for their use on board each ship during the voyage; and also a School, whenever the number of the Emigrants shall render it practicable; for which latter purpose a schoolmaster will be selected, who will be entitled to a free passage in consideration of his services.

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified, for general information, that a Writ for the election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the city of Wellington, in the place of KENNETH BETHUNE, Esq., having been issued, in accordance with Clause 12 of “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer for the said City has returned the said Writ, with a Certificate to the effect, that the undermentioned Gentleman has been duly elected to serve as a Member of the said Provincial Council for the said City of Wellington,

ALL Parties who have registered applications at this office for passages from Great Britain for their friends or others, are requested to attend here to sign the necessary bonds, between the 6th and 12th July next.

NOTICE.
ALL Persons having a right of voting under the Road Act, in the Assessment or determination of the repairing rate, and in the election of a Board of Commissioners for the KARORI OR PORIRUA ROAD DISTRICTS, must send in their claims in writing to the Sheriff, at his office in Wellington, on or before the eighth day of July next, in the form following:
To WILLIAM FOX, ESQ., Acting Sheriff.
I hereby give you notice that I claim to have my name put upon the Roll of Electors to vote for Commissioners for the District of Karori, or Porirua Road, as the case may be.
Dated this __ day of __, 1854.
} Place of abode and business of Claimant.
N.B. Every person having to his own use a freehold estate in, and every lessee of land within the district, which land shall not be let, or underlet, for a term of two years and upwards, and every occupier of any land within the district, is entitled to have his name placed on the Electoral Roll.
