PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington.
ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON,
Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, by virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf, Do hereby Proclaim and appoint, That the part of the Harbour of Port Nicholson lying between Palliser or Pipitea point and the mouth of the Kai Warra Warra stream, shall be a station or place for the performance of Quarantine by vessels liable thereto.
Given under my Hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this Twenty-second day of June, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-four.

REGULATIONS
For Registering Sheep Brands, under an Act of the Provincial Council, Sess. I., No. 20.
WHEREAS, by an Act of the Provincial Council, Sess. I., No. 20, s. 5, it is enacted, that from and after the first day of June, 1854, all sheep and lambs shall be branded on the wool thereof with the brand of the owner, and certain penalties are imposed for the neglect thereof. And Whereas it is further provided, that every owner of such sheep or lamb shall cause a correct copy or impression of his Brand to be registered in an Office, and within such time as shall be appointed by the Superintendent for that purpose; and every owner neglecting the same shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds; and that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent to appoint a Registrar of Brands, and, with the advice of the Executive Council, to make Rules and Regulations for the management of such Registrar’s office.
