PASTURE LICENSES.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 1st November, 1853.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Commissioner of Crown Lands is now ready to issue Depasturing Licences for the Rangitikei District, in accordance with the adjustment of the claims there, in December, 1851. The respective claimants are accordingly requested, personally or by duly authorised agents to attend the Commissioner at the Survey Office at Wanganui, on Saturday, the 26th day of November instant, at ten o’clock, with the necessary returns of their stock.

The License Fees and Assessments will be payable on or before the 1st of December, immediately after which the licences will be issued.

NOTICE.

PROVINCE OF WELLINGTON TO-WIT.

WHEREAS a Writ, under the hand of Isaac Earl Featherston, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province, bearing date the fourth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-three, hath been directed to me, Henry St. Hill, Esquire, Returning Officer for the City of Wellington in the said Province, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, one person to serve as a Member for the City of Wellington aforesaid, in the Provincial Council of the said Province, in the place of William Fitzherbert, Esquire, late a Member for the City of Wellington aforesaid, in the said Provincial Council of the said Province, who has resigned his seat in the said Council, and whose resignation has been duly received by the said Superintendent.

Now therefore I, the said Henry St. Hill, Esquire, Returning Officer for the City of Wellington, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice, That a Public Meeting of the Electors of the City of Wellington will be holden at Noah’s Ark, situate on Lambton-quay, in the City of Wellington aforesaid, on Monday, the twenty-first day of November instant, at noon; for the purpose of nominating one person to serve as a Member for the City of Wellington, in the said Provincial Council of the said Province; and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such Polling shall take place on Tuesday, the twenty-second day of November instant, at Noah’s Ark aforesaid; the Voting to commence at any time after nine o’clock of the said day, and to close at four o’clock in the afternoon of the said day.

SUPREME COURT.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a sitting of the Supreme Court, for the despatch of Criminal business, will be holden at the Court House, Wellington, on Thursday, the first day of December next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons under recognizances to appear either as prosecutors, defendants, or witnesses, are hereby required to give their attendance.
