THE following List of the Members of the Board of Education for the New Plymouth District is hereby published in accordance with Clause 9 of the “Educational Ordinance, 1874.”

THE following Ordinances, passed by the Provincial Council and reserved by the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon, intituled “The Provincial Council Ordinance, 1873, Amendment Ordinance, 1874,” and “The Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1874,” having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency has been pleased to assent to the same.

IN accordance with Clause 14 of the “Educational Ordinance, 1874,” I, FREDERIC ALONZO CARRINGTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby appoint that the first Meeting of the Education Board shall be held at the Institute, on THURSDAY, the 25th instant, at half-past Two o’clock in the afternoon.

ROADS AND BRIDGES.

Notice fixing the Minimum Rates, and appointing General Meetings of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th Districts.

WHEREAS by the 49th Clause of the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” power is given to the Superintendent, with the approval of the Provincial Council, by notice to be published in the Government Gazette, to alter the minimum Rates to be imposed in any District. Now therefore I, FREDERIC ALONZO CARRINGTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby, with the approval of the Provincial Council, appoint that the minimum Rate to be imposed in all the Districts hitherto constituted under the above recited Ordinance shall be Threepence per acre for the ensuing year, from the 1st July, 1874, to the 30th June, 1875, excepting in Districts 18, 24, 25, and 26, in which the minimum Rate shall be Twopence per acre for the same period. And I hereby further appoint that General Meetings of Ratepayers in the said Districts shall be
