REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE APPOINTED BY HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE PROVINCE OF TARANAKI TO ENQUIRE INTO AND DECIDE UPON CLAIMS MADE UNDER THE "VOLUNTEER LAND ACT, 1865," AND THE "VOLUNTEER LAND ACT AMENDMENT ACT, 1867."
Your Committee having carefully investigated the numerous claims made under the "Volunteer Land Act, 1865," and the "Volunteer Land Act Amendment Act, 1867," have the honor to report as follows:—
Under the above recited Acts, Superintendents, with the advice and consent of their respective Provincial Councils, are empowered to grant to Volunteers and Militiamen Remission Certificates for the purchase of land at the disposal of every such Province issuing the Certificates, in the following manner, to wit:
1st. "To every Officer of Volunteers or Efficient Volunteer after five years service for any sum not exceeding Thirty Pounds (£30)."
ERRATUM.—In Gazette of 7th December, 1872, for "No. 24" read "No. 25."
