THE following Resolution passed by the
Provincial Council is hereby pub-
lished for general information.

That this Council approves of the
Rules or Regulations of the Town Board
imposing a tax on carts plying for hire in
the Town of New Plymouth, viz.:—
"That the owner of every cart plying for
hire within the Town of New Plymouth
shall cause the same to be registered every
year, at the Office of the Board, and shall
obtain a separate license for every such
cart, signed by the Chairman of the Board,
and countersigned by the Treasurer. The
sum of Forty Shillings shall be paid for
every license for a cart, and the same
shall be due and payable on the first day
of July next, and yearly, hereafter, on the
same day."
"The name of the owner, and number
of license granted for any cart shall be
legibly painted on the same in letters at
least one inch long, and of a proportionate
breadth upon the right or offside."
"That the rates of charges which the
licensees shall be allowed to make shall be
subject to a future consideration."

to be the Fire Inspector for the Town of
New Plymouth.

NOTICE is hereby given that all the
Military Settlers who selected their
lands in the Okotuku District, Wellington
Province, must apply at the Crown Lands
Office, Wellington, for their Crown Grants,
which are ready for delivery.
