NOTICE
Publishing names of Commissioners, and rates per acre imposed at the General Meeting of 10th Road District for the year 1870–1.

IT is hereby notified for general information, that at a General Meeting of the Electors of the 10th District, constituted under the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” which was duly held in accordance with the provisions of the said Ordinance, the persons whose names appear in the following Schedule, opposite the number of the said District respectively, were duly elected Commissioners respectively for the said District for the year 1870–1, and the Rate placed opposite to the number of the said District in the said Schedule, was duly imposed on all lands within the said District respectively:

NOTICE
Harbour Office,
New Plymouth, January 31, 1871.
In accordance with the provisions of the 39th clause of the third section of the Harbour Regulations of New Zealand, empowering the Harbour Master to take such means as he may deem necessary to prevent accidents, &c., alongside vessels, the following directions are hereby published, and will be strictly enforced:
On the arrival of any vessel in the Port, no boat shall be permitted to go seaward of the outhaul buoy until the vessel is properly secured by one anchor.
When any vessel arrives while boats are working a first arrival, no boat shall approach such second or third ship, as the case may be, within two hundred yards, until she is properly secured by one anchor and permission given by the master to go alongside.
No person employed in working the boats shall be permitted to go on board any vessel without permission of the master or officer in charge (the master of the boat excepted).
Any boat performing Government duty to be exempt from these rules, so long as the said boat performs Government duty only, and no other.
All boats when laden in fine weather shall have three clear planks above water amidships: in rough weather not less than four clear planks amidships, in which case double fares may be charged.
A ball will be hoisted from the flagstaff half-topmast high, when bad weather fares or loads will be required.
