ROADS AND BRIDGES.

Notice fixing the Minimum Rates and altering the month for General Meetings, and appointing General Meetings of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd Districts.

And I hereby further appoint that General Meetings of Ratepayers in the said districts shall be held in the month of August next ensuing, as follows:—

1st (or Bell) Road District—

  • At the Bell Block School-house, on Tuesday, the 8th day of August next, at three p.m.

2nd (or Henui) Road District—

  • At the Taranaki Institute, on Tuesday, the 8th day of August next, at three p.m.

3rd (or Lower Mangorei) Road District—

  • At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 12th day of August next, at two p.m.

4th (or Carrington) Road District—

  • At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 12th day of August next, at two p.m.

5th (or Frankley) Road District—

  • At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 19th day of August next, at two p.m.

6th (or Barrett) Road District—

  • At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 19th day of August next, at one p.m.

7th (or Upper Hurford) District—

  • At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 19th day of August next, at three p.m.

8th (or Tataramaka) Road District—

  • At the Tataramaka School-house, on Monday, the 14th day of August next, at three p.m.

9th (or Omata) Road District—

11th (or Huirangi) Road District—

  • At the Manutahi Inn, on Monday, the 14th day of August next, at two p.m.

12th (or Waiwakaiho) Road District—

  • At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 26th day of August next, at two p.m.

13th (or Tarurutangi) Road District—

  • At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 26th day of August next, at two p.m.

14th (or Tikorangi) Road District—

  • At the Tikorangi School-house, on Wednesday, the 23rd day of August next, at two p.m.

WHEREAS by the 49th Clause of the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” power is given to the Superintendent, with the approval of the Provincial Council, by notice to be published in the Government Gazette, to alter the minimum Rates to be imposed in any District. Now therefore I, FREDERICK ALONZO CARRINGTON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby, with the approval of the Provincial Council, appoint that the minimum rate to be imposed in all the Districts hitherto constituted under the above recited Ordinance shall be Twopence per acre, excepting in Districts 10, 14, 16, and 18, in which the minimum Rate shall be one penny per acre.
