THE following Table showing the Numbers of the Population of the Province of Taranaki, as ascertained by a Census taken for the night of the 27th February, 1871, are published in anticipation of further and more complete information. The figures, it is to be understood are subject to subsequent revision, but it is not probable that this will lead to any alteration of practical importance. Similar information for the other Divisions of the Colony will be published immediately after the receipt of it from the several Enumerators.
