QUARTERLY LICENSING MEETING.
Resident Magistrate’s Office,
New Plymouth, 2nd May, 1870.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Quarterly Licensing Meeting of the Justices of the Peace acting in and for the District of Taranaki, will be holden at the Resident Magistrate’s Court in Brougham-street, in the Town of New Plymouth, on Tuesday, the seventh day of June, (1870) next, at noon, for the purpose of taking into consideration all applications for Licenses under the “Sale of Liquors Ordinance, 1866,” and the transfer, removal, or renewal of such Licenses.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to issue Letters of Naturalisation, under “The Aliens Act, 1866,” in favour of the undermentioned person, viz.:
Name—Jean Baptiste Louis Rolland.
Residence—New Plymouth.
Occupation—Roman Catholic Priest.

IT is hereby notified, that the reward of five pounds offered by the Colonial Government (in addition to the Military reward), for the apprehension of deserters from Her Majesty’s Military Forces, will cease to be paid in future. The notice offering this reward published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventeenth December, 1869, is withdrawn.

WITH reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-ninth January, 1870, offering a reward of five pounds, to be paid by the Colonial Government, for the apprehension of deserters from Her Majesty’s Navy, it is hereby notified that the above reward will be paid only in the case of deserters leaving Her Majesty’s ships on the New Zealand Station.
