NOTICE.

THE following letter having been received from George Cutfield, Esq., is published for general information:--

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, September 10, 1870.

Sir,--As the unconstitutional step taken by the Superintendent prevents my continuing to hold the office of Deputy Superintendent, I have the honor to request that you will take the necessary steps to provide for the Provincial Service.--

And I, therefore, do hereby proclaim and declare that I have assumed the Office of Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, in pursuance of the powers and authority in that behalf contained in Section 5 of the “Superintendent’s Deputy Act, 1866.”
