ROADS AND BRIDGES.

Notice fixing the Minimum Rates and altering the month for General Meetings, and appointing General Meetings of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd Districts.

WHEREAS by the 49th Clause of the "Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858," power is given to the Superintendent, with the approval of the Provincial Council, by notice to be published in the Government Gazette, to alter the minimum Rate to be imposed in any District. Now therefore I, George Cutfield, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby, with the approval of the Provincial Council, appoint that the minimum rate to be imposed in all the Districts hitherto constituted under the above recited Ordinance shall be Twopence per acre, excepting in Districts 10, 14, 16, and 18, in which the minimum Rate shall be one penny per acre. And I hereby further appoint that General Meetings of Ratepayers in the said districts shall be held in the month of August next ensuing, as follows:

1st (or Bell) Road District—
At the Bell Block School-house, on Monday, the 8th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

2nd (or Henui) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Monday, the 8th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

3rd (or Lower Mangorei) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 6th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

4th (or Carrington) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 13th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

5th (or Frankley) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 6th day of August next, at TWO p.m.

6th (or Barrett) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 6th day of August next, at ONE p.m.

7th (or Upper Huawera) District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 6th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

8th (or Tataraimaka) Road District—
At the Tataraimaka School-house, on Monday, the 15th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

9th (or Omata) Road District—
At the Omata School-house, on Monday, the 8th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

10th (or Upper Mangorei) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 13th day of August next, at ONE p.m.

11th (or Huirangi) Road District—
At the Manutahi Inn, on Monday, the 15th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

12th (or Waiwakaiho) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 13th day of August next, at TWO p.m.

13th (or Tarataonga) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 20th day of August next, at TWO p.m.

14th (or Tikorangi) Road District—
At the Tikorangi School-house, on Saturday, the 13th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

15th (or Oakura) Road District—
At the Oakura Inn, on Monday, the 15th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

16th (or Okato) Road District—
At the Okato Blockhouse, on Monday, the 15th day of August next, at TWO p.m.

17th (or Elliot) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 20th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

19th (or Urenui) Road District—
At Captain Good's Redoubt, on Monday, the 15th day of August next, at TWO p.m.

20th (or Hua) Road District—
At the Taranaki Institute, on Saturday, the 20th day of August next, at THREE p.m.

21st (or Mataitawa) Road District—
At the Mataitawa Blockhouse, on Tuesday, the 16th day of August next, at ONE p.m.

22nd (or Waitara West) Road District—
At the Bell Block School-house, on Monday, the 22nd day of August next, at THREE p.m.

N.B.—The 18th (Clifton) District has been omitted from the preceding notice, in consideration of the special circumstances of that district.
