Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority for that purpose vested in me, do hereby appoint

Major Charles Brown
to be the person who may grant permits for the sale of wine, ale, beer, or spirits within the said Proclaimed District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, at the Government House, at Auckland, this twenty-fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

Upon reading the Affidavits of Frederick Frank Trent, and Charles Freer Crawford, I do order that Charles Freer Crawford, a Curator of the Estates of deceased persons, shall be Administrator of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of Edward Richards, deceased, and that this order be published in the Taranaki Herald newspaper, as “The Intestate Estate Act, 1865,” directs.
