Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, May 7, 1867.

It is hereby notified that a Writ issued for the election of a Member of the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of the Town of New Plymouth, has been returned with a Certificate to the effect that

HARRY ALBERT ATKINSON,
of New Plymouth, leaseholder,
has been duly elected.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

SAMUEL POPHAM KING, Esq.,
to be Deputy Commissioner of Stamp Duties under "The Stamp Duties Act, 1866."

WHEREAS by "The Military Pensions Act, 1866," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time to constitute and appoint a Board or Boards of Medical Officers, and to cancel or vary any appointment at pleasure, such Board or Boards in each case to consist of not less than three duly qualified medical practitioners:

Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the said power and authority do hereby appoint

THOMAS EDWARD RAWSON, M.D., L.S.A.,
PATRICK JOSEPH O’CARROLL, M.R.C.S.I.,
EDWARD L. HUMPHRYS, M.R.C.S.E.,
to constitute a Board of Medical Officers for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of the said recited Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.
