IT is notified for general information that a writ for the election of a member of the Provincial Council for the Grey and Bell District in the room of William Northcroft, resigned, having been issued in accordance with the provisions of “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer for the said District has returned the said writ with a certificate to the effect that

has been duly elected to serve as a member of the Provincial Council for the Grey and Bell District.

QUARTERLY LICENSING MEETING.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Quarterly Licensing Meeting of the Justices of the Peace acting in and for the Licensing District of Taranaki in the Province of Taranaki, will be holden at the Resident Magistrate’s Court in the Taranaki Institute, situate in Brougham street in the Town of New Plymouth, on Tuesday, the 4th day of December next, at noon, for the purpose of taking into consideration all applications for Licenses under the “Sale of Liquors Ordinance, 1866,” and the transfer or renewal of such Licenses.
