SLAUGHTERING OF CATTLE ORDINANCE, 1864.
NOTICE
Appointing Places for the Exposure of Cattle intended for Slaughter.
Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, October 12, 1866.
In exercise of the authority vested in the Superintendent by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Taranaki, intituled “The Slaughtering of Cattle Ordinance, 1864,” I, Thomas Kelly, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby notify that the following places are appointed as places for the exposure of Cattle intended for slaughter under the said Ordinance:—
The Public Pound in the Hua Township
The Stockyard on Section 19, Manutahi Township
The Stockyard on Section 7, Huiraugi Township

NOTICE.
Election and Appointment of Cattle Commissioners for No. 6 District.
Provincial Secretary’s Office,
New Plymouth, October 30, 1866.
It is hereby notified that at a General Meeting of the Electors of No. 6 District, under the “Branding of Cattle Ordinance, 1865,” held pursuant to notice on Thursday, the 11th instant, for the purpose of electing Commissioners for the said District, the undermentioned gentlemen were duly elected:—
James Batten, and
Samuel Martyn;
And it is further notified that by virtue of the power vested in him by the 22nd clause of the said Ordinance the Superintendent has appointed
E. J. Cudd
to be Commissioner for the same District.

It is notified for general information that a writ for the election of a member of the Provincial Council for the Grey and Bell District, in the room of William Devenish, resigned, having been issued in accordance with the provisions of “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer for the said District has returned the said writ with a certificate to the effect that
Robert Snell
has been duly elected to serve as a member of the Provincial Council for the Grey and Bell District.

Election and Appointment of Cattle Commissioners for No. 7 District (Oakura).
Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, September 8, 1866.
It is hereby notified that at a General Meeting of the Electors of No. 7 District, under the “Branding of Cattle Ordinance, 1865,” held pursuant to notice on Saturday, the 4th instant, for the purpose of electing Cattle Commissioners for the said District, the undermentioned persons were duly elected:—
Peter McFarlane,
Charles James Donnelly,
Martin Costello,
David Kelly.
And it is further notified that by virtue of the power vested in the Superintendent by the 22nd clause of the said Ordinance, I have appointed
James S. McKellar
to be Cattle Commissioner for the same District.
