IMPOUNDING ORDINANCE, 1854.
NOTICE
Appointing a Public Pound in the Town of New Plymouth.
Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, October 5, 1866.
I Superintendent by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Taranaki, intituled “An Ordinance to authorise and regulate the Impounding of Cattle and to provide for the summary recovery of compensation for damage done by Cattle trespassing,” Session I., No. 8, I, Thomas Kelly, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby notify that I have appointed the following fenced place to be a Public Pound for the purposes of the said Ordinance:—
The Stockyard on the Market Place,
Powderham-street, Town of New Plymouth.
And I do hereby notify that the Pound Fees taken and charged at the said Pound shall be in accordance with the scale published in the Government Gazette of the Province, vol. 13, No. 84, December 21, 1865, and that the charges made for the sustenance of cattle in the said Pound shall be according to the scale published in the Government Gazette of the Province, vol. 13, No. 21, August 24, 1865.

NOTICE
Suppressing a Pound in the Omata District on Section No. 35, and in the Town of New Plymouth.

New Plymouth, October 9, 1866.
In exercise of the authority vested in the Superintendent by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Taranaki, intituled “An Ordinance to authorise and regulate the Impounding of Cattle and to provide for the summary recovery of compensation for damage done by Cattle trespassing,” Session I., No. 8, I, Thomas Kelly, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby notify that the following Public Pounds are suppressed:—
The Public Pound, Omata District,
(formerly J. Hurford’s land) appointed by notice dated 14th May, 1866, and published in the Provincial Gazette, No. 9, 16th May, 1866.
And the Public Pound seaward of Bulkeley Terrace on the western side of the Town of New Plymouth, appointed by notice dated 13th November, 1864, and published in the Provincial Gazette, No. 96, November 15, 1864.
