PROCLAMATION
Proroguing Provincial Council to the 6th of November, 1866.
By His Honor Thomas Kelly, Esquire,
Deputy Superintendent of the
Province of Taranaki.
WHEREAS by an Act passed in the
fifteenth and sixteenth years of the
reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria
intituled “An Act to grant a Representative
Constitution to the Colony of New
Zealand,” it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Superintendent to prorogue the Provincial
Council from time to time whenever he
shall deem it expedient to do so.
Now therefore, I, Thomas Kelly, Esquire,
Deputy Superintendent of the Province of
Taranaki, do hereby proclaim and declare
that in exercise of the authority vested in
me in that behalf by the said recited Act,
I this day prorogue the Provincial Council
of the said Province of Taranaki, until
Tuesday, the sixth day of November, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
Given under my hand at New Plymouth, in the Province of Taranaki, this twenty-seventh day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
