PROCLAMATION
Proroguing Provincial Council to 'the 2nd October, 1866.'

By His Honor HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.

WHEREAS by an Act passed in the sixteenth and seventeenth years of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled "An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand," it is amongst other things provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent to prorogue the Provincial Council from time to time, whenever he shall deem it expedient to do so.

NOw therefore I, HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby proclaim and declare that in exercise of the authority vested in me in that behalf by the said recited Act, I this day prorogue the Provincial Council of the said Province of Taranaki until Tuesday, the second day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, at two o'clock P.M.

Given under my hand at New Plymouth, in the Province of Taranaki, this twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

PROCLAMATION
By His Honor HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Taranaki intituled the "Sale

of Liquors Ordinance, 1866," it is amongst other things provided that the Superintendent shall for the purposes of the said Ordinance divide the settled portions of the Province into such licensing districts as he may deem expedient and by proclamation published in the Government Gazette of the said Province declare such districts and by such proclamation define the boundaries.

Now therefore, I, Henry Robert Richmond, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province, do hereby proclaim that the portion of the Province of Taranaki hereinafter described shall be a Licensing District for the purposes of the said Ordinance:

That block of land in the Province of Taranaki bounded on the north by the sea, on the east by the rivers Waitara and Manganui to a point on the Manganui river ten miles in a direct line from the mouth of the river Waitara, on the south by a straight line from the point last named to a point on the Hangatahua river ten miles in a direct line from its mouth, and on the west by the Hangatahua river.

Given under my hand at New Plymouth, this twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
