THE "BRANDING OF CATTLE ORDINANCE, 1864."
PROCLAMATION
By His Honor Charles Brown,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Taranaki.
In exercise of the powers vested in me by the "Branding of Cattle Ordinance, 1864," I do hereby proclaim and declare that the said recited Ordinance shall be in operation in the said Province of Taranaki from the date hereof.
Given under my hand, at New Plymouth, the 30th day of January, 1865.

The following Tenders for the above-mentioned work were received and opened on the 25th instant, and are published for general information —
ACCEPTED.
J. Perry, W. Murray and Co., £2 15s. per lineal yard; time of completion, four months.
REJECTED.
W. R. Chadwick, £2 17s. 6d. do.; seven months.
C. Rassmann, £3 do.; six or eight months.
N. Hooker, £3 10s. do.
John Bell, £3 11s. do.; three months.

to be a Warden at the Tapuane river to see to the due observation of the proclamation issued by me under "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," relating to the Omata and Oakura districts.
The appointment to date from the 23rd instant.
