Appointment of an Inspector under "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861."

IT is hereby notified that

has been this day appointed an Inspector of Cattle under "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861."

PROCLAMATION

Appointing a Quarantine Ground for Cattle ex ‘Eclipse,’ from Newcastle, New South Wales, under provisions of ‘The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861.’

By His Honor Henry Robert RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.

IN exercise of the powers delegated to Superintendents of provinces under the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," I, HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, Do hereby proclaim and declare the following place in the Province of Taranaki as a quarantine ground for the landing and management of the Cattle around, and fixing the fees and charges thereof:

  1. No Cattle to be landed from the Brigantine ‘Eclipse,’ from Newcastle, New South Wales, and for the management of the Quarantine ground, before being inspected and without a Quarantine Certificate from an Inspector of Diseased Cattle.

  2. All Cattle to be landed at the Port of New Plymouth and to be forthwith driven to the Town Pound and branded with a special brand.

  3. The Cattle to be removed from the Town Pound within forty-eight hours after arrival, and to be driven along the sea beach to the Waiongona river, thence along the Waiongona valley to the block of land lying between the Waiongona and Mangoraka rivers, having as an inland boundary the block of land occupied by No. 2 Company, T.M.S.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Taranaki, at New Plymouth aforesaid, this 11th day of October, 1865.

IN exercise of the authority delegated by His Excellency the Governor to Superintendents of provinces under the provisions of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," I, Henry Robert RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, Do hereby proclaim and declare the following place to be in force for landing, driving, and management of Cattle from the Brigantine ‘Eclipse,’ from Newcastle, New South Wales:

The land lying between the rivers Waiongona and Mangoraka, having as an inland boundary the block of land occupied by No. 2 Company, T.M.S.

  1. No Cattle to be landed from the ‘Eclipse’ before being inspected and without a Quarantine Certificate from an Inspector of Diseased Cattle.

  2. All Cattle to be landed at the Port of New Plymouth and to be forthwith driven to the Town Pound and branded with a special brand.

  3. The Cattle to be removed from the Town Pound within forty-eight hours after arrival, and to be driven along the sea beach to the Waiongona river, thence along the Waiongona valley to the block of land lying between the Waiongona and Mangoraka rivers, having as an inland boundary the block of land occupied by No. 2 Company, T.M.S.

  4. Any such Cattle being found departing or straying beyond the above boundaries will subject the owners to a penalty not exceeding Five Pounds for every head of Cattle so straying.
