Crown Lands Office,
New Plymouth, August 27, 1864.
NOTICE is hereby given that the removal of Iron Sand from the Waste Lands of the Crown in the Province of Taranaki is prohibited by the General Government, and that any person removing iron sand from such lands, will be proceeded against according to law, unless he shall first have produced satisfactory proof at this office, that he has obtained permission so to do from the General Government.

PUBLIC FOOTPATHS.

New Plymouth, 31st August, 1864.
In exercise of the authority vested in me by the “Municipal Ordinance, 1862,” I, Charles Brown, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby give notice and declare that the undermentioned Footways in the Town of New Plymouth shall henceforth be deemed and taken to be Public Footpaths within the meaning of an ordinance of the Lieutenant-Governor of New Zealand, and of the Legislative Council thereof, intituled “An Ordinance to provide for the protection of Footpaths in the Colony of New Zealand,” and shall be protected accordingly.
Queen Street—The Footway of the width of twelve feet on each side of Queen-street, between King and Devon-streets.
Market Place—The Footway of the width of ten feet on the east side of street near Market Place Reserve, adjoining town allotments Nos. 662 and 676, between Devon and Powderham-streets.
Robe Street—The Footway of the width of twelve feet on each side of Robe-street, from Powderham to Bulteel-streets.
Devon Street—The Footway of the width of 14 feet 6 inches on each side of Devon-street, between Liardet and Dawson-streets.
