NOTICE

Defining "The Port of New Plymouth"
Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, 27th August, 1864.

In exercise of the powers vested in the Superintendent of Provinces by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Marine Board Act, 1863," I, Charles Brown, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby for the purposes of the said recited Act, define the limits of

The Port of New Plymouth

to be so much of the Taranaki Roadstead as lies within a radius of 1½ miles of the Custom House, on the Sea Beach, near Mount Eliot.

The following Tenders for building a Dry Stone Wall along the course of the Huatoki River, were received and opened on the 24th instant, and are published for general information:—

  • R. Goldie, & Co., at £1 9s. per yard (accepted.)
  • To be completed in six weeks.
  • W. R. Chilwell, at 18s. superficial yard (not accepted.)
  • T. C. Ford, & Co., at £1 2s. per yard (not accepted.)
  • Bell and Stewart, at £4 1s. 6d. per yard (not accepted.)

  • Patrick Power ... Government providing drays ... (not accepted.)

  • Martin Brennan, & Co., at 1s. 1½d. per yard, Government providing drays ... (not accepted.)

    Andrew Ross, £18 (accepted.)

  3. For repairs at the Boat Sheds,
    Kelly and Burton, £25 (accepted.)
