to be Clerk to the Superintendent’s Office in the place of William B. Messenger,

IT is notified for general information that a Writ for the election of a member of the Provincial Council for the Omata District, in the room of T. White, Esq., resigned, having been issued in accordance with the provisions of “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer for the said District has returned the said Writ with a certificate to the effect that
W. B. Messenger
has been duly elected to serve as a member of the Provincial Council for the Omata District.

IN compliance with the following resolution passed by the Provincial Council, Designs accompanied by Tenders are invited, and will be received at this Office until noon of the 31st instant, for a Groin and Jetty or either of them; it is requested that the expense of the materials and labour be kept separate in each Tender.

In reference to Message 93 that a sum not exceeding £3000 be appropriated for the materials and erection of a Groin and Jetty or either of them for which Designs accompanied by Tenders should be immediately invited.
