NOTICE.

The following Regulations having been approved by the Superintendent, are published for general information.

REGULATIONS UNDER THE “CATTLE OWNERSHIP ORDINANCE, 1862”

  1. The Commissioners for ascertaining the ownership and disposal of the live stock of the settlers with a view to the distribution of the Relief Fund for this class of losses, will sit daily in open Court at the Council Chamber, Mount Egmont, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  2. All persons, now resident in the Province, who have owned or possessed horses, cattle, or sheep, subsequent to the 22nd day of February, 1860, must make a return thereof, as required by the Ordinance, on or before MONDAY the third day of March next.

  3. The Form of Return may be had on application to the Commissioners.

  4. Persons refusing to give evidence before the Commissioners, after being duly summoned for that purpose, or otherwise impeding the business of the enquiry, will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £20, to be recovered in a summary way.
